5. OU Theatre Guild Membership Party at OU Memorial Union

University of Oklahoma drama and musical theater students are providing live entertainment during the OU Theatre Guild Membership Party 6-8 p.m. Aug. 25 in the Beaird Lounge in the OU Memorial Union, 900 Asp Ave.

The event is free to the public. There will be an opportunity for guests to join the guild, if interested.

6. Wine and Palette at the Sam Noble Museum

Get wild at the Sam Noble Museum, 2401 Chautauqua Ave., by learning how to paint animals during a Wine and Palette event 7 p.m. Aug. 29.

The event is in conjunction with the museum’s exhibit “Bob Kuhn: Drawing on Instinct.”

7. Josh Abbott Band at Riverwind Casino

Don’t miss the country music sensations, Josh Abbott Band, during their Riverwind Casino, 1544 West State Highway 9, performance 8 p.m. Aug. 30.

Hear the band’s chart-topping hits like “She’s Like Texas” during the Norman show. Tickets start at $25.

8. CLAY at Firehouse Art Center

See the many creative ways artists utilize clay in their works during CLAY, a national juried exhibition at the Firehouse Art Center, 444 S. Flood Ave., opening Sept. 9.

The exhibit highlights and rewards excellence by fine artists specializing in clay, and is on display through Oct. 19.

9. Tuesday Noon Concerts at the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art

A cooperative effort between the University of Oklahoma School of Music and the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art is bringing the Tuesday Noon Concerts series through September.

The free, 30-minute concerts are performed by OU music students and faculty at the Fred Jones, 555 Elm Ave., with the first of the series scheduled for Sept. 10 with a guitar studio by Professor Larry Hammett.
