NORMAN — Oklahoma rode the hot hands of Sam Grooms and Steven Pledger to a 90-76 victory over Baylor on Saturday at Lloyd Noble Center.
The win lifted OU to 18-8 overall and 9-5 in the Big 12 Conference.
Grooms scored a career-high 23 largely due to a 15-for-17 day at the free-throw line. Pledger finished with 19 points. He scored all but two of those in the first half, helping the Sooners blow the game open in the first 20 minutes.
OU led 47-21 at halftime. Baylor cut the lead to 12 in the second half, but never got any closer.
Pierre Jackson scored a game-high 28 points for the Bears (16-11, 7-7). The loss was Baylor’s third straight and sixth in the last eight games.
