NORMAN — Oklahoma has landed its 21st commitment and fourth defensive tackle to its 2013 recruiting class. Soonerscoop.com reported Matthew Romar, 6-foot-3, 270 pounds, gave his commitment to Oklahoma late Monday night after visiting over the weekend.
The Port Arthur (Memorial) product is the fourth defensive tackle OU has added since the middle of December. The position is critical with starters Casey Walker, Jamarkus McFarland and Stacy McGee all graduating.
Romar, a three-star recruit, is the No. 48 defensive tackle in the country and 91st best player in Texas according to Rivals.com.
All oral commitments are non-binding. Players cannot sign national letters of intent until Feb. 6.
