NORMAN — There are three keys for Oklahoma in tonight’s game at Baylor.
— Keep Romero Osby on the floor: The Sooners will need the senior forward to play as many minutes as possible. He enters tonight’s game averaging 18 points per conference game and that’s translate into .61 points per minutes played. It is the highest points-per-minute average in the Big 12 Conference.
— Hit some 3s; defend the perimeter: The Sooners were 3-for-24 from 3-point range against the Bears last season. Steven Pledger averaged 19 points in the two games (both OU losses), but he also made all of OU’s long-distance attempts. The Sooners’ roster has changed with the addition of forward Amath M’Baye and freshmen guards Buddy Hield, Isaiah Cousins and Je’lon Hornbeak. One, or all of them, need to make some 3-pointers tonight. Defending the 3-point line wouldn’t hurt either. The Bears were 17-for-41 from beyond the arc in those two games.
— All five of Baylor’s starters are averaging over 26 minutes a game. OU has nine players averaging over 15 minutes a game. The bench needs to be factor and reverse a two-game trend. Over the last two games, the opponents’ non-starters have outscored OU’s 56-19.
