NORMAN — University of Oklahoma President David Boren said Monday that OU and Oklahoma State University will not part ways for conference realignment, regardless of where OU ends up.
Boren spoke briefly on the academic side of conference alignment, Big 12 or otherwise, during his annual State of the University address to the Faculty Senate.
“We are not going to be a splitting off with OU going one way and OSU going the other way,” Boren told the OU Faculty Senate. “That’s not going to happen in Oklahoma, so I don’t perceive this being a political issue.”
Boren said nothing of OU staying in the Big 12 or going to another conference, though he said after leaving the Faculty Senate room that he “hopes to get it resolved within two weeks so I can get a little more sleep.”
