Shinn at 3: Sooners take lots of confidence to Texas

It’s been five weeks since Oklahoma and Texas first met on Jan. 21 at Lloyd Noble Center. A few things have changed. One aspect that hasn’t changed during the span is the direction of the teams.

Since that 73-67 victory over the Longhorns last month, the Sooners have won six of their last 10 games and put themselves in solid position for an NCAA Tournament bid.

“Right now we have more people playing with a high level of confidence than we have all year, and that’s always good,” he said. “We have several different guys shooting the ball with confidence and playing with confidence. Because of that, we’re playing our best basketball right now.”

That confidence shows in how the Sooners have performed on the road. A win over the Longhorns would give OU a 9-6 record away from Lloyd Noble Center this season. That would their combined total of road and neutral sight wins from the previous three seasons.

The Sooners meet Texas at 8 tonight in Austin.
