NORMAN — Eight local residents have been selected as judges for this year’s April 20 89er Day Parade, committee officials have announced.
The judges are Valene Albert, Steve Rice, Sonya Sugg, Ann Ross, Judy Pitt, Alison Vinson, Ashley Adair-Garner and Roger Brown.
Longtime Norman resident and OU professor Bob Goins will serve as marshal of this year’s parade. It begins at 10 a.m. at Norman High School, 911 W. Main, and moves east on Main Street to Crawford Avenue.
This year’s parade theme is “Workin’ Up a Storm.” Participants are encouraged to design their entries to reflect what the theme means to them.
There are 10 divisions upon which entries will be judged: Floats, Round-Up Club, Music and Dance Groups, Auto, Trucks, Other Vehicles, Miscellaneous Children, Miscellaneous Adult, Equestrian and Other Animal.
