When Memphis coach Lionel Hollins was describing what his team needs to do to slow down Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, he evoked a couple legendary names.
"One of the things that makes Durant's job easier is having Westbrook have the ball in his hands," Hollins said. "When you have to contend with Westbrook, then there is Durant, who is up for MVP. That's a heck of a thing to have.
"It's one thing for Durant to have it in his hands all the time and everybody is focused on him, then he has to throw it to someone who is lesser than Westbrook. But to have Westbrook with it, and he's throwing to a guy that's better than him, that's a luxury for a great player to have," he said. "It's kind of like Magic (Johnson) and Kareem (Abdul Jabbar). I think it's a great combination that they have here."
