Shinn at 3 p.m.: Stoops unconcerned about approaching milestone

IRVING, Texas —  Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops potentially can claim his 150th career victory Friday night against Texas A&M in the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. He could reach the mark in exactly 14 seasons, but the OU coach said on Wednesday that's he's never set any career goals for himself.

"I don’t really operate that way in looking long-term. I have high expectations. I expect a lot. But I don’t sit there. … it’s just not how I think to envision things like that," Stoops said. "I’m kind of day-to-day, week-to-week, month-to-month trying to get better as a program and as a team as opposed to what might happen 15 years down the road.

"I think in our business you are daily and weekly trying to improve the program. You don’t have time to think of those things. I don’t think about them now."

If the 12th-ranked Sooners do top the 10th-ranked Aggies, it would mark the 10th time in Stoops' 14 seasons as head coach that his team will have won at least 11 games.
