OKC police say robbery suspect dies in SUV crash

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Police in Oklahoma City say a robbery suspect has died after crashing her SUV into a building early Tuesday.

Police say the woman was a suspect in a robbery at about 6 a.m. Tuesday at a truck stop in northeast Oklahoma City. Authorities say officers saw a black Chevrolet Blazer leaving the scene of the robbery, leading to a short pursuit.

Police say the driver crashed into a building at Northeast 18th Street and Martin Luther King Avenue. Officers say the driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have closed Martin Luther King Avenue in the area while the accident is under investigation.

Authorities have not yet released the woman’s name.
