Tornado sirens in Norman

NORMAN — Tornado sirens in south Norman sounded briefly just after 9 p.m. However, there have been no reports of tornados touching down in the area.

According to scanner traffic, sirens on the OU campus also will sound and those on campus will be asked to take shelter.

Cleveland County and Norman currently are under severe thunderstorm warnings, not a tornado watch.

There has also been reports high-standing water on Jenkins Avenue near Brooks Street as well as on Elm Avenue between Lindsey and Brooks streets. Drivers are asked to avoid those areas at this time.
