NORMAN — Oklahoma only led once on Saturday. Turned out to be the only time it mattered. It was right after Brennan Clay reached the end zone on an 18-yard touchdown run to give the Sooners a 51-48 overtime victory over Oklahoma State at Owen Field.

Clay’s run ended one of the wildest games in one of college sports’ wildest rivalries.

The win lifted the 14th-ranked Sooners 9-2 overall and 7-1 in the Big 12 Conference. The Cowboys dropped to a 7-4 and 5-3.

OSU never trailed in regulation and OU rallied from a touchdown deficit in the first quarter and an 11-point debt early in the fourth quarter.

OU backup quarterback Blake Bell sent the game to overtime with a 4-yard touchdown run with four seconds left in regulation.

The teams combined for 1,067 yards with the Sooners collecting 593 of it. Landry Jones threw for 500 yards and three touchdowns.
