Looking toward game day

NORMAN — Game time: Kickoff is planned for 7 p.m. Saturday at Owens Field.

Weather: Currently it is 36 degrees in Norman with winds from the north at 23 mph, according to The Weather Channel's weather.com. The wind chill makes it feel like about 30 this morning. By contrast, it is currently 45 degrees in South Bend, Ind., home of the visiting Fighting Irish. A 14 mph wind from the north-northwest makes it feel like 37 in South Bend.

Stripe the stadium: Remember to match your crimson and white gear to your ticket section. Fans in even-numbered sections are asked to wear crimson, while fans in odd-numbered sections are asked to wear white. Current OU students are asked to wear crimson.

There’s basketball, too, tonight: The Oklahoma women’s basketball program will play host tonight their Friday Night Tailgate.

Players will greet fans when the Lloyd Noble Center doors open at 5 p.m. At 6, a 90-minute scrimmage will begin. Free T-shirts will be distributed to the first 500 through the door.

Admission is free.

Game day traffic: The Norman Police Department has extended its ban on game day parking on Brooks Street from Jenkins Avenue to Classen Boulevard. Also, after the game, NPD will allow traffic only one-way travel on Brooks Street — eastbound toward Classen Boulevard.
