Power restored in downtown Norman

NORMAN — An electrical power outage in Norman affected hundreds of customers Sunday afternoon.

The outage hit about 4:35 p.m. and impacted The Transcript offices at 215 E. Comanche St. and dozens of downtown businesses.

OG&E officials reported more than 700 residences and businesses were without power until repairs were made about 7 p.m.

No official cause of the outage was available late Sunday. However, crews were dispatched to a downtown substation, which has been blamed in previous outages.
