NORMAN — When the Class 6A girls playoffs begin next week, Norman North will be coming off a victory and Norman High will be coming off a loss. Both, though, will be coming off a fine regular-season finale played Friday night at the NHS Gym.
Behind 20 points from Bri Kuestersteffen and late-game free throws from everybody, the Timberwolves finally ran away from the Tigers for a 55-43 victory.
Taylor Ely led the Tigers with 19 points. With her help, NHS led 28-27 as late as the middle of the third quarter.
North responded by staying the course.
“That just kind of shows our maturation process,” North coach Jeff Blough said. “These guys aren’t sophomores any more. They’re juniors now.”
