NORMAN — Oklahoma has parted ways with two players. An OU official confirmed to the Transcript Sunday night that defensive back Gary Simon and defensive tackle Marquis Anderson have been kicked off the team.
SoonerScoop.com first reported that the duo, along with sophomore defensive tackle Damon Williams, had been removed. The Transcript was unable to confirm Williams’ status Sunday night. Simon and Anderson were no longer on the football roster on OU’s official website, soonersports.com, at 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
Simon played in three games last season as a true freshman and registered two tackles. The three-star recruit from St. Petersburg, Fla., was a cornerback.
Anderson, played in four games this past season as a redshirt freshman. The Cibolo, Texas, native made five tackles, with two going for loss, and he was credited with one sack.
