Leadership Oklahoma announces members

NORMAN — Leadership Oklahoma recently announced the members of its 27th annual class selected from applicants throughout the state.

“Leadership Oklahoma is very excited about the 51 people chosen for this year’s program,” said Joe Moran III, manager of Lighthouse Properties LLC and chair of the Leadership Oklahoma Board of Directors. “Class XXVII is an outstanding blend of leaders from a variety of fields who will contribute a wealth of knowledge to our discussions on important Oklahoma issues. Leadership Oklahoma is dedicated to providing the leadership necessary to help shape Oklahoma’s future.”

The Class XXVII Norman residents include Julia Chew, Greg Mashburn and Will Merrick.

A class is selected each year from a wide geographic base representing diverse backgrounds. Members will meet monthly — visiting Seminole, Lawton, Stillwater, McAlester, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Tahlequah, Guymon and Broken Bow — to discuss social, environmental and economic complexities of Oklahoma to stimulate inquiry, analysis and solutions for the public good.

Leadership Oklahoma is a statewide organization founded in 1986 to create a network of leaders whose increased awareness and commitment to service will energize Oklahomans to shape the state’s future.

Approximately 1,300 members from 158 Oklahoma communities have graduated from the leadership program.
