NORMAN — Beginning Tuesday, VisitNorman may be whistling “New York, New York” more often than usual as a five-second spot will be scrolling on the billboard at Times Square.
As part of a package with a print ad that will be published later this spring in Horizon Travel Magazine and inserted in the Wall Street Journal, the five-second video will be appearing April 1-7.
With an estimated 1.5 million people walking through Times Square each day, we are aiming to catch their eye. We are using the branding that is typical for our ad campaigns including images of the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, which coincidentally has been named a finalist for the International Museum and Library Service’s 2014 National Medal Award.
While promoting to a national audience what is uniquely available in Norman, especially the Native American natural history that is on permanent display at the museum, we are also relying on some of the name recognition Norman has built courtesy of the national brand associated with the University of Oklahoma and with the National Weather Service bulletins that are seen throughout the country when people see, read or hear the Norman, OK dateline.
You can view the video on our VisitNorman channel on You Tube or linked to our other social media platforms on Facebook and Twitter.
