NORMAN — This year, 2012, Oklahoma Tourism partnered with Floyd’s RVs to promote the RV parks and the RV lifestyle.

The dealership also became one of the centers for Oklahoma Tourism in providing tourism information.

Through the partnership, Oklahoma Tourism and Floyd’s RVs hope to build and strengthen Oklahoma tourism. Both organizations realized the importance of showing the world that Oklahoma is a great state, great to live in and great to visit, according to a news release from Floyd’s RVs.

Floyd’s RVs is a full service dealership. Rex Floyd feels that by being a full service dealership he can offer his customers the quality they deserve and convenience of meeting all their needs in one location.

Floyd began his dealership in 1969 on a shoestring budget while working as an Engineer to support his growing family. He would travel with his family each weekend to Pauls Valley, Okla. to start his RV business.

The business began in his parent’s front yard. Floyd and his father purchased a few RVs and would sell to their customers from the front yard. Floyd’s dream was to continue to grow the business, so he rented a corner lot by a gas station to display the RVs.

He would conduct business with potential customers in one of the RVs for sale.

Floyd’s RVs always has been a family-owned business. Currently three of the Floyd children are heavily involved in the running of the business. Carol Floyd-Behrens is the Director of Marketing, Kenneth Floyd is the Sales Manager and Robert Floyd is the Parts/Service Manager.
