Chamber hosts Legislative Lunch

NORMAN — Oklahoma Speaker TW Shannon will address Norman Chamber members at the annual Legislative Lunch scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at the Oklahoma Memorial Union. Shannon will give a recap of legislative accomplishments from session and discuss the bottom line for what these policies mean for Oklahoma businesses. The luncheon will take place in the Molly Shi Boren Ballroom on the 3rd floor of the Union with registration opening at 11:15 a.m.

The Presenting Sponsor for the event is AT&T. Platinum Sponsors include: Equity Commercial Realty LLC, Fowler Holding, Arvest Bank and Hallbrooke Development Group. Gold Sponsors are: the University of Oklahoma, Steve Owens Insurance Group, Oklahoma Electric Cooperative, BancFirst, Home Creations and Bank of Oklahoma.

Platinum Sponsorships are still available for $500 and include one reserved table for eight with preferred seating, at least one elected official will be seated at your table (subject to availability), and your company will be featured in promotional materials developed by the Chamber for the program, including the Chamber’s eJournal and website. Gold Sponsorships are still available for $250 and include a reserved half table for four and your company will be featured in promotional materials developed by the Chamber, including the Chamber’s eJournal and website. Individual seats are $20.

The Norman Chamber Business Development Committee has rescheduled the Lunch & Learn event, “Learn to be Lean” to Tuesday, June 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Chamber offices. This Lunch and Learn will cover an overview of Lean concepts and an introduction to Six Sigma theory. These principles can help businesses recognize ways to continuously improve and streamline their processes through the identification and reduction of waste, which can lead to improved decision making. Adopting these principles can help save money, time and resources for the organization.

Presenting Sponsor for the event is Hallbrooke Development Group. Panel speakers include Bert Franks, Quality Management Systems Coordinator, Moore Norman Technology Center and Marc Jensen, Program Coordinator for the University of Oklahoma Lean Institute.
