Chamber to host Leadership Norman event

NORMAN — Applications will be available Monday for the 2015 Leadership Norman class. Leadership Norman, a program of the Norman Chamber of Commerce, offers participants an opportunity to be part of a distinct leadership group. The program for residents and area professionals will accept applications through August 1. A selection committee will review the applications and select the 30-person class in late August.

Leadership Norman is open to anyone who either works or lives in Norman. Co-chaired by Brian McPherson, Shelter Insurance, and Shelly Hickman, Norman Public Schools, the class consists of 15 interactive sessions, spanning an eight-month period, ending with graduation in April. Orientation is scheduled for Thursday September 11. Most sessions will be from 5:30 to 9:30 Thursday nights, with a select number of sessions during the day.

Throughout the course of the program participants attend a variety of sessions focused on community history, current community issues, leadership and self-discovery. Leadership Norman is a great way to learn more about your community and build your own personal network.

Applications will be available at normanchamber.com, or by contacting Erica Millar at 321-7260 or erica@normanchamber.
