Word of services is getting out

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — As hot as the first 12 days of September have been, the Norman CVB sales staff has been matching the temperature outside. And we have the Norman community to thank.

Much like a positive experience is detailed on social media or shared over a lunch with friends, people have been hearing what kind of services we provide for meeting planners or a point person who might have been volun-told to plan a conference or workshop.

A handful of times just this month, we have been approached to put into action the contacts we have to get the best rates, the best locations, the best caterers, etc. because someone else has shared that we can provide event planning services for free.

The Norman CVB sales staff gladly assists those who are planning a conference, convention, sporting event, reunion or wedding in Norman. With a certified meeting professional on staff, we can help out anyone who is planning an event that equals 10 or more room nights (like 10 rooms for one night or two rooms for five nights).

We work with local hoteliers to identify the perfect meeting space and secure the best rates and availability. We can schedule site inspections and prepare bid packets. Other services include logistical support, itinerary development, familiarization tours, entertainment options, welcome bags and more.

If you are going to be in charge of coordinating your association’s event or your club’s next conference, you can call us at 366-8095 or you can use the Meeting Professionals section at VisitNorman.

Stefanie Brickman, CTA, is currently the interim executive director of the Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau. Their vision is to be the leader who proactively markets and develops Norman as the preferred destination in Oklahoma.
