Max Westheimer Airport to host Aviation Breakfast and Festival

NORMAN — Max Westheimer Airport will host the fifth annual Aviation Breakfast and Festival on Oct. 4.

The celebration will include an open house, aircraft static displays, tours of the control tower and a children’s activity area. The breakfast is scheduled for 7:30 a.m. , and festival hours will be noon to 6:30 p.m.

Aircraft static displays include a Cherokee Warrior, Lancair, Stearman Bi-Planes, AT 6 Texan, Chinook Plus II Experimental, Cirrus SR 22 Turbo, King Air C90, PT-19, Rutan Long EZ, Taildragger / Champion, CTLS Light Sport Aircraft and various others. The Norman Fire Department, OU Police Department, S.W.A.T. Team, Norman Police Department, Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Oklahoma Highway Patrol also will have displays during the festival.

This year’s festival also will feature Warbirds, vintage military aircraft recently seen in the flyover of the OU vs. Louisiana Monroe football game. Another new addition to the festival this year is Boomer, Sooner and the Sooner Schooner. Children can meet their favorite mascots and take pictures with them.

This event would not be possible without sponsors and partners. This year’s Platinum sponsors and partners include OU Real Estate Operations, Republic Bank & Trust and Valliance Bank.
