NORMAN — Big news from the Oklahoma Arts Conference this week was that the annual event will be hosted in Norman in 2014. This year’s event was at the Ardmore Convention Center.
The Oklahoma Arts Council presents the annual conference that attracts a few hundred attendees, who sit in on various tracks including arts management, cultural development and artists.
The Norman CVB’s Visitors Services Specialist Taylor Mauldin was on site as an “attendance generator,” once the announcement was made, to hand out promotional VisitNorman items to excite attendees about making a trip to Sooner city next year.
As a member of the Public Arts Board, Mauldin also was attending the conference to hear more about how the Norman CVB may support the local arts community to attract visitors and events.
This year’s conference was spread out over three days, with the programming portion dedicated primarily over two days.
The conference also features the graduation ceremony of the Oklahoma Arts Leadership Class.
Stefanie Brickman, CTA, is currently the interim executive director of the Norman Convention and Visitors Bureau. The Vision of the Norman Convention & Visitors Bureau is to be the leader who proactively markets and develops Norman as the preferred destination in Oklahoma.
