The Norman Chamber of Commerce offers three leadership programs for interested individuals: Tomorrow’s Leaders, Leadership Norman and Leaders Plus.
Kyla McMoran, director of communications for the Norman Chamber of Commerce, said Tomorrow’s Leaders is aimed toward high school sophomores. Thirty teenagers are invited to participate in team building activities, strengthen talents and learn about the community and government divisions.
McMoran said each 10-session class begins in January and ends with a graduation ceremony in April.
Leadership Norman is a program for adults who are emerging leaders, according to the Norman Chamber of Commerce. Those who enroll in Leadership Norman get to participate in a nonprofit internship.
The program introduces class members to problems and needs inside the community, team building exercises and communication training, according to a class description.
The third leadership program, Leaders Plus, is intended for adults who may have retired from their professions and wish to develop further involvement in community affairs, the class description states.
Class members are instructed about critical issues facing Norman, according to the Norman Chamber of Commerce. The course also reinforces leadership skills.
