NORMAN — Norman Police investigators have yet to positively identify a deceased man found in the road Friday morning, since they did not find any identification on the body, said Capt. Tom Easley. Additionally, officers request that anyone driving on 60th Avenue NW near Rock Creek Road between midnight and 4 a.m. Friday call Detective Ron Collett at 366-5219 or the police department at 321-1444.

The body was found directly on the road in the northbound lane near Rock Creek Road and 60th Avenue Northwest (Western Avenue in Oklahoma City) about 4:30 a.m. Friday. There was “a lot of trauma to the body,” Easley said. The cause of death has not been determined.

Easley said investigators at the scene have not determined whether the man was thrown from a vehicle or hit by a vehicle, but that the deceased did not “appear to be a typical jogger.”

Representatives from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, who will determine cause and manner of death, have taken custody of the body.
