NORMAN — The woman found dead in the Cleveland County jail early Sunday has been identified.

Rebekah Reed, 36, was in a cell by herself and found unresponsive at 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Meghan McCormick, Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office public information officer, said there were no visible injuries on the woman. The woman had been brought to the jail by the Moore Police Department on a city complaint.

Jeremy Lewis, Moore Police public information officer, said Reed had a municipal warrant for failure to appear. Reed was picked up by police at 9:45 p.m. Saturday at 2411 Truitt St. and booked into Cleveland County jail at 10:28 p.m.

Nursing staff and jail personnel immediately started giving her medical care until fire and EMS arrived. The woman was transported to Norman Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, officials said.
