NORMAN — An Oklahoma City couple was charged with drug trafficking Tuesday in Cleveland County District Court after police found more than two pounds of methamphetamines in their home.

Shilo Renee McManes, 34, and Curtis Brandon McManes, 33, both face charges of trafficking in illegal drugs, unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and acquiring proceeds from drug activity.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the charges, police intercepted a package being delivered to the McManes’ home in Cleveland County containing about 555 grams of methamphetamines.

Police prepared the package for delivery, obtained an anticipatory search warrant for the home, and upon execution of the search warrant found another pound of meth and a pound of marijuana.

Plastic bags, scales and a drug ledger used in distributing illegal drugs were located in the home as well as a large sum of U.S. currency police believed to be proceeds of illegal drug sales, the affidavit said.

Several firearms, including pistols and shotguns, many loaded and in plain sight, also were found.

Curtis McManes admitted to owning the guns and drugs and even told police where some of the items were located. He also told police his wife knew about him dealing drugs but did not sell anything for him, the affidavit said.

Shilo McManes told police she knew her husband was dealing drugs, saw transactions occur several times and said also he had received a package of meth just two weeks ago, the document stated.

“She also knew the package he received today (June 6) contained illegal drugs and who had helped him get the methamphetamines,” the affidavit said.

No bail has been set for the defendants and they were to be transported Tuesday to the Cleveland County Detention Center or be released if they are not held on other charges, according to the affidavit.

According to an enhancement page filed with the charges, Curtis McManes has previously been convicted of or pled guilty to possession of a controlled dangerous substance in Grady County in November 2004.
