Teen charged with kidnapping, assault

NORMAN — A preliminary hearing conference will be Jan. 15 for a Norman North student charged with kidnapping and domestic assault and battery earlier this month.

Jordan Quinn Harris, 17, was charged with the two felonies this past week. He was arrested but bonded out of jail Dec. 12 on a $1,000 bond.

According to the affidavit, during an interview with police, the a 16-year-old fellow student said Harris forced her into his car in the Norman North High School parking lot after lunch. The affidavit stated the victim and Harris were in a dating relationship and both attended Norman North.

The victim tried to resist, but once she was forced into the backseat of his car, he allegedly strangled her twice until she was unconscious, according to the charges.

The affidavit stated once the victim regained consciousness for the second time, she stopped resisting Harris and left the school with him. A short time later, they returned to the Norman North parking lot to retrieve the victim’s backpack, which was left there when the victim was forced into the car.

“When they approached the place where her backpack was left, Harris told (the victim) ‘if you get out, I’ll kill you,” the affidavit stated.

The two then left the high school parking lot again and drove around for a few hours. The victim said she could not remember where they had gone until they went to the east side Norman Wal-Mart Supercenter because both she and Harris noticed “her eyes were bloody.”

The victim then said Harris went into Wal-Mart to get her makeup to conceal her injuries before taking her back home. When the victim returned home, a Norman police officer was at the residence responding to a runaway report for the juvenile.

The officer noticed that the victim had sustained significant injuries to her eyes, face and neck consistent with being assaulted. When asked by her parents, the victim said she was assaulted by her boyfriend.
