NORMAN — One person was injured in structure fire in far east Norman Saturday morning, east of Lake Thunderbird.
Norman firefighters responded to 16415 Kasey Drive where they found the occupant of a manufactured home suffering from burns to the head and neck area, said Deputy Fire Chief Jim Bailey. Firefighters treated the adult male who was later transported to Norman Regional Hospital by EMSStat.
It took crews about 45 minutes to extinguish the fire, which was called in around 8 a.m. Saturday. The home had heavy fire showing upon Norman firefighters’ arrival, Bailey said.
There is a preliminary damage estimate of $15,000 to both the structure and contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Norman Fire Marshals office, he said.
Three Norman fire stations, EMSStat and mutual aid from the Little Axe fire department responded to the incident.
