Buckmaster later learned Jonathan Patton had died at the trailer. Patton was in the double-wide trailer at 12900 Kerns Road in Oklahoma City, where he was found dead the next day.
Detectives found narcotics, guns, digital scales and money in the trailer, as well as several 9mm shell casings on or around the porch outside of the trailer and in the trailer’s utility room. Numerous projectiles also were recovered at the scene, the affidavit said.
During interviews, Paz and Southerland admitted to being part of the robbery at the trailer, corroborating with Buckmaster’s confession. Paz also told police that Southerland shot a firearm before all three fled from the trailer, the document states.
Agreements listed in the summary of facts for Paz’s guilty plea included a life sentence for four counts. The fifth count, possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction, included 38 years in a Department of Corrections facility with the last eight years suspended, unless lowered at the request of the state at sentencing. The counts are set to run concurrent with each other. Formal sentencing is set for 1:30 p.m. May 28 in District Judge Tracy Schumacher’s courtroom.
Agreements listed in the summary of facts for Buckmaster’s guilty plea included 45 years with 23 years in DOC for three of the counts, each with additional specifications such as parole and supervised probation. Ten years in DOC was listed in the agreement for the robbery with a weapon count.
The document also stated in the agreement that each count would run concurrently but is contingent upon Buckmaster’s cooperation and testimony consistent with a prior written statement and oral statements. Formal sentencing for Buckmaster is set for 1:30 p.m. April 30 with Schumacher.
A motion hearing has been set for Southerland at 9 a.m. Wednesday with Schumacher. Court records show a jury trial is scheduled for June 9.
