NORMAN — A Moore man received a two-year deferred sentence Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to an embezzlement charge in Cleveland County District Court.
David Lynn Benge, 26, was charged for embezzlement in June 2012 after embezzling more than $13,000 from his workplace, the 800 NE 12 St. Circle K in Moore.
Benge admitted to his manager and police that he wrongfully took money from the store by falsifying voided transactions and then taking money from the cash register at the end of his business day, according to the probable cause affidavit.
The affidavit stated that Benge had voided transactions completed between Jan. 3 and April 15 in 2012 but later admitted to Moore police he began taking money as early as April 2011. District Judge Tom Lucas was the presiding judge.
