NORMAN — The Norman Police Department encourages parents and students to discuss several safety issues as prom season approaches and the end of the school year nears.
Police suggest taking time to discuss possible scenarios and potential consequences involving driving, alcohol use and curfews.
In a press release sent out by NPD, an article involving a recent tragedy of a Dallas high school student was attached.
The teen lost his life when he lost control of his vehicle while speeding in an attempt to make his parents’ curfew.
“We all hope that Norman can avoid the tragedy illustrated in the attached article, and, with a little effort on everyone’s part, we can,” the release stated.
