Virginia man charged in Cleveland County with lewd acts to a child

NORMAN — A man from Virginia was charged with lewd acts to a child Wednesday in Cleveland County District Court after a Norman child was forensically interviewed.

Shawn Christopher Turner, 38, was charged with lewd or indecent acts to a child under 16.

Turner was interviewed by a Fairfax County detective after the 5-year-old boy disclosed in a forensic interview at the Mary Abbott Children’s House that he had been sexually abused, according to the affidavit filed with the charge.

During Turner’s interview with Virginia law enforcement, he admitted to committing the lewd or indecent acts about three times and described what he did to police. He estimated that the acts lasted no more than 30 seconds each time, the affidavit said.

Turner also admitted to pleasing himself later on in the day while he thought about the acts, the affidavit said.

According to the document, the acts were committed several years ago when Turner was in the Norman area.
