Police find marijuana after delivering food to resident

NORMAN — A Norman man faces drug charges after a police officer delivered food to the man’s address in a twist of fate.

Brenton Michael Wolf, 23, was charged with cultivation of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia Wednesday in Cleveland County District Court. The incident that led to the charges took place around 8 p.m. May 5 when Norman Police Officer David Stevenson was contacted by a female delivery driver in reference to a medical emergency she was having, the affidavit filed with the charges said.

She was at the intersection of West Lindsey Street and Crown Point Avenue, close to where her she was dropping off her next delivery. Prior to being transported to the hospital, she requested that the food she was about to deliver be delivered by Officer Stevenson, the affidavit said.

When Wolf opened the door to his home, Stevenson said he observed a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside, saw a glass jar containing marijuana and a smoking pipe lying on the living room coffee table in plain view from the door, according to the affidavit.

“The defendant (Wolf) and another resident consented to the search of the residence and (Wolf) admitted ownership of the marijuana grow and other contraband items found inside the residence,” the affidavit said.

According to the affidavit, Stevenson found a 27-plant marijuana grow, a small container of marijuana, several smoking pipes containing burnt marijuana residue, a digital scale, a cigarette roller, a stash can, two rifles, one shotgun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
