NORMAN — A gunshot that rang out Tuesday morning on Main Street may have concerned some people, but it wasn’t a criminal act.
The shooting occurred at AutoZone, 2020 W. Main St., when an employee was attempting to make his gun safe inside of his vehicle, Norman Police Captain Tom Easley said.
“He shot himself through the thigh,” Easley said.
A part of his left hand got shot as well, but the bullet did not hit any bones or arteries, Easley said. The gun was a .45 Sig Sauer.
The man was transferred to the hospital, where he received treatment.
