Deputies arrest burglary suspect

NORMAN — Cleveland County Sheriff’s deputies have recovered $17,300 in cash and jewelry taken from a Norman home but still need the public’s help finding property stolen during the burglary.

Deputies were notified of the burglary Aug. 16 in the 7000 block of Pleasant Valley Drive in Norman. The victim report that a safe was missing. The safe contained jewelry, $20,000 and personal and legal documents.

Thieves also took two flat screen TVs and video and audio equipment. The stolen property had an estimated value of $63,500.

On Aug. 20, the victim alerted detectives that one of the stolen rings was seen being worn by a family member. Detectives identified the family member as Jessica L. Clark, 32, of Norman.

Investigators contacted Clark and noted that she was wearing a ring that matched the description of one of the rings reported stolen. Upon contacting Clark, she was wearing the ring in question. The ring recovered was estimated to be valued at $4,000.

Detectives placed Clark in custody. Clark also was wearing a backpack. A box was found inside the backpack that contained $16,900. Also found was a pill bottle containing two oxycodone tablets, according to a sheriff’s press release.

Clark was arrested on complaints of knowingly receiving and concealing stolen property and possession of CDS. She was booked into the Cleveland County Detention Center. She bonded out of jail Wednesday. Investigators obtained search warrants to search a home and Clark’s vehicle. The victim’s personal and legal papers were found.

Sheriff Joe Lester said anyone who has information about the burglary or missing property should call CCSO at 701-8888 and ask for a detective.
