NORMAN — The Norman Fire Department will begin training in the spring for new recruits to fill nine vacancies, Deputy Fire Chief Jim Bailey said.
Applications will be accepted through Friday. Bailey said they typically have anywhere from 200 to 600 applicants, many of who get weeded out after written and physical agility tests.
After those tests, training is expected to begin in early spring, he said.
