NORMAN — A former Norman Public School district teaching assistant was sentenced Thursday in Cleveland County District Court.

Jeremy Dale Davis, 35, received a five year deferred sentence for each of his charges after pleading no contest to both. Davis was charged in 2012 for stalking and soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology. The minor was a 17-year-old male.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Davis met the teen “when the two struck up a random friendship at his place of work during a chance encounter.” Davis was reported as working at Monroe Elementary School from August 2005 to his resignation in May 2012.

The minor reported to a school counselor that Davis had been stalking him through email, text message, telephone contact and social network links, according to the affidavit.

“(Davis) repeatedly demand(ed) that they be alone together,” the affidavit states.

Davis also allegedly asked the minor to participate in sexual acts, to which the teen refused. Davis threatened the minor, the affidavit said.
