NORMAN — Traffic was diverted from northbound Interstate 35 Sunday night after a four-vehicle wreck left one critically injured.
The wreck occurred just before 9 p.m. in the northbound lane of I-35, just south of the Lindsey Street exit. Three people were transported by EMSStat. One man in his 50s or 60s was critically injured.
Officials on the scene said an earlier accident occurred just before the four-vehicle wreck. During the initial accident, a man got out of his car to check on others and make sure they were OK. At that time, he was struck by a vehicle getting on the interstate.
Officials said they were not sure how many were involved in the initial accident.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Norman Police, Norman Fire and EMSStat responded to the scene.
