NORMAN — Latricia Dee Ann Vaughn, 20, of Norman, faces an additional charge Tuesday after a previous first-degree murder charge filed against her Friday in Cleveland County District Court.
Vaughn and her brother, Myron Lomonte Burris, 17, were charged conjointly with first-degree murder and robbery with a weapon.
The siblings allegedly shot and killed Nicholas Williams, 20, in his Norman home the morning of Sept. 15.
The two went to Williams’ residence to burglarize him when they found him at home and encountered a struggle, according to affidavits filed.
When Williams put up a fight, one of the siblings shot him in the leg, the affidavit said. The gunshot wound transected a femoral artery in Williams’ leg, causing a fatal loss of blood, records show.
After being tracked down by the U.S. Marshal Service and taken to the Norman Police Department for questioning, Vaughn was booked into Cleveland County jail at 11:44 p.m. Oct. 9, said Meghan McCormick, Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.
McCormick said Vaughn was transferred to the Oklahoma County jail at 6:31 a.m. the next day.
