NORMAN — The general theme of the television build-up to the winter Olympics was about the threat of terrorism and the unfinished improvements to the city of Sochi.

Some of the accommodations weren’t up to the standards expected, but the games seemed to have come off in splendid fashion. The one-time sanatorium city on the Black Sea was transformed into a modern resort, now with worldwide name recognition.

The next winter games will be in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Let the hype begin.
