NORMAN — It’s been customary for city of Norman utility customers to take advantage of fall and spring cleanup dates to get rid of those items that won’t fit into the regular polycarts.
Fall cleanup Saturdays begin this week with customers who have Monday polycart service. Tuesday polycart service residents will put their large items out Oct. 5, Wednesday customers on Oct. 12, Thursday polycart customers on Oct. 19 and Friday customers on Oct. 26.
Items need to be out on the curb by 7:30 a.m. on designated Saturdays. They won’t pick up remodeling debris, junk cars, hazardous waste, batteries or paint. Polycarts, wagons or wheelbarrows are not to be used as containers for cleanup items.
An added bonus is the city’s Transfer Station at 3901 S. Chautauqua Ave. will be open and free on those Saturdays for any Norman sanitation customer, so you can haul your own stuff. Take your utility bill with you or a driver’s license with a Norman address on it.
