NORMAN — Today marks the final day of the seventh Norman Music Festival, a downtown smorgasbord of bands, soloists and other forms of entertainment. Thousands of music lovers were seen Thursday and Friday in downtown Norman.
They are enjoying downtown restaurants, niche retail stores and the annual Lions Club Carnival, which moved back downtown to join forces with the festival a few years back.
The draw, besides some great music, has been the free part of the festival. Norman likes free, whether it’s Jazz in June, Summer Breeze or Fourth of July in the park.
Some downtown businesses see a surge at the cash registers from festival traffic. Others simply close their doors to accommodate the festivities.
If the weather cooperates today, it’ll be a great day to come downtown. We’ll see you there.
