NORMAN — Sara Maisano loved animals and would have brought more strays home if her parents would have allowed it. Her violent death at age 23 robbed her family of a loving daughter and sister.
Now, the longtime Norman family is looking for something positive to come out of the entire ordeal.
They are helping raise money for a cat porch on the new Norman Animal Shelter planned on South Jenkins Avenue.
It will cost about $9,000 to add the cat porch to the building. It was in the original design but was trimmed to bring the bond project back within budget.
Donations can be mailed to the Norman Animal Welfare Center, 201-B West Gray Street, Norman, 73069.
Write “Sara’s cat porch” on the memo to ensure that it helps fund the project and keep Sara’s memory alive.
