NORMAN — How do you know the entire country is supporting recovery efforts in Moore? Even the nation’s cartoonists are getting into it.
“Drawn Together: Cartoonists Benefit Moore, Oklahoma School Libraries” is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Lloyd Noble Center.
It’s a chance for the artists to sign books and talk about inspirations behind their work.
The artists scheduled include Jeff Kinney, ”Diary of a Wimpy Kid,” Dav Pikkey, “Captain Underpants,” Lincoln Pierce, “Big Nate,” and Stephan Pastis, “Timmy Failure.”
Cost is $10 and can be paid at the door. The artists’ publishers are donating signed books for sale at the event. All of the proceeds benefit the Moore Public Schools Foundation for its school library collections.
Churches, nonprofits, civic clubs and businesses from throughout the world have stepped up to help Moore’s recovery. Collectively, these gestures lift the spirits of givers and recipients.
