Quick action saves lives

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Tuesday’s Norman Public School bus fire illustrates the value of having quick-thinking administrators and alert parents on school trips. The teachers and parents took action quickly to avoid any injuries or loss of life.

Photos and videos shot by Norman students and parents showed a blazing inferno alongside the H.E. Bailey Turnpike. Band members were on their way to a contest in Lawton.

Lawton schools sent buses to bring the students to the contest at Cameron University, while NPS dispatched buses to bring them back to Norman on Tuesday night.

Our hats are off to the adults and students on board and to the Norman North and other bands that loaned the students instruments for the competition.
