NORMAN — It’ll be many months before it’s implemented, but Oklahoma drivers can eventually use their Tolltags on Dallas area roads.
The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority has approved an agreement with the North Texas Tollway Authority to allow Tolltag drivers to cruise three Dallas metro toll roads without stopping to pay.
It seems like a simple solution to link all of the nation’s turnpikes, but we’re sure the devil is in the details. The Tulsa World reports that authorities had initially wanted to link all of Texas.
Texas pass holders also can use their passes on Oklahoma toll roads. They expect the system to be up and running by fall 2014, just in time for the OU-Texas football game.
