She plans to continue her education toward becoming a certified registered nurse anesthetist. Waddle looks forward to working as a certified surgical technologist while continuing her education in first assisting or nursing.
Rogers was a 1997 graduate of Norman High School, where she played softball and basketball for the Optimist Club. Soon after, she attended MNTC’s 2nd Surgical Technology class. After receiving a diploma in surgical technology she began working in the surgery department at Integris SW Medical Center where she remained until taking a position at the Dean McGee Eye Institute.
Rogers’ parents, Mike and Nancy, asked that in lieu of flowers being purchased for her funeral, that donations instead be made to help establish a scholarship fund.
Mike and Nancy said Jamie was most proud of her accomplishment of becoming a surgical technologist and that the establishment of this scholarship allows Jamie’s spirit to continue to make a difference in our community.
