NORMAN — The Norman School Board will launch a new phase of bond projects at a regular meeting 5 p.m. Monday in City Council chambers, 201 W. Gray St.
Monday’s actions will continue ongoing use of the 2009 Bond Issue which, since its approval, has brought school site renovations, district-wide updates in classroom technology and Reagan Elementary, among other major improvements.
Using a five-year lease revenue bond issue (new to the district at its inception) proved highly effective over the succeeding three-year period, and Monday’s board meeting will set new perimeters for the bond’s future projects.
Specific projects for the new segment have yet to be announced, but the board will determine the amount, time, place and registrar/paying agent for the anticipated sale.
Additionally, the board will hear a presentation on the bond issue project that’s currently under way, the Administrative Services Center Remodel.
Following major woes in recent months, planners will give detailed information on interior design plans adjusted to absorb a construction phase nearly $500,000 over budget.
Finally, the board will likely convene in executive session to select a member or members to attend and participate in a legal settlement conference for R. Thompson and M. Long v. Norman Public Schools, et al. filed in the U.S. District Court.
